Is everything at Vizzi 100% Vegan?
We prefer the term 100% Plant-Based. While our menu is entirely plant-based, our commitment goes deeper than a dietary label. June 2025 marked a sacred transition for our founder—moving from 36 years of vegetarianism to a fully plant-forward model to ensure our offerings align with our Dharma (purpose) and are rooted in the highest principles of Ahimsa (non-violence). Every ingredient is chosen to honor all life, focusing on the vibrant, healing power of plants to create a high-vibration experience for our guests.
How do Indian flavors fit into a comfort food menu?
Vizzi is a reflection of our heritage met with our home here in Long Beach. We take the soulful spices of India—like turmeric, cumin, and black salt—and weave them into familiar favorites like smashed burgers and fries. It isn't "fusion" for the sake of novelty; it is an intentional blending of our ancestral wisdom with the comfort foods we love today.
What does the peacock feather in your logo represent?
The peacock feather is a sacred symbol of integrity, protection, and beauty. In Vedic tradition, it represents a heart that is light, playful, and deeply committed to Ahimsa (non-violence).
For us, the feather carries two meanings:
-
The Eye of Compassion: The "eye" of the feather represents the awakening—the moment we chose to see the truth of our food systems and transition to a 100% plant-forward Sanctuary.
-
Sacred Protection: It serves as a reminder that our kitchen is a space of protection for all beings. It is the "Grace" that crowns the bold, grounded strength of our mission.
When you see the feather, know that your meal has been prepared with watchfulness, intention, and a commitment to the highest vibration of mercy
Why are you only opening in the evenings?
Vizzi operates on a shared-space model. During the daylight hours, the space is occupied by our friends and partners at The Wild Chive, who fuel the community with their own incredible plant-based offerings. We believe in the power of shared resources; when the sun sets, the space transitions to Vizzi. We encourage you to check out The Wild Chive’s website for their opening hours—together, we ensure this space is a beacon for plant-based innovation in Long Beach.
What is the naming convention behind your menu items?
Great question! You’ll notice our menu is structured around the principles of Dharma (duty) and Ahimsa (non-violence) rather than traditional food categories. Every dish is named to reflect its spiritual essence and the ancient Indian heritage that informs our flavors. We view our kitchen as a sacred space where comfort food is elevated into pure, high-vibration nourishment.
For example, our signature burger is named The Chariot, representing the vessel that carries us forward with purpose and strength. This naming style is a reminder that every meal is an act of intention—a sanctified offering that connects the wisdom of the past with the vibrant energy of Long Beach. Why do you source your desserts from local partners?
In the Sanctuary, we believe in Sangha (community) and the conscious use of resources. Rather than creating extra overhead and potential food waste by baking everything in-house, we choose to partner with our community to reduce our environmental footprint, minimize waste, and strengthen the compassionate ecosystem of Long Beach. It allows us to focus on our craft while sharing the "divine" treats our community already loves.
